THE GIRLS' GARDEN
Designed for her sisters, Malone wanted this garden to be as girly as possible. Almost every plant selected is a pollinator attractor. As a low-budget project, it has been a beautiful experience watching the plants grow in as the garden continues to evolve. Wildly successful, the girls have spotted humming birds, blue jays, cardinals, garden snakes, and bees. And the property is teeming with caterpillars and butterflies including monarchs, julias, zebra longwings, and gulf fritillaries to name a few.
The wood deck and outdoor shower in the backyard were built by Malone and her father. Bohemian lawn furniture and myriads of potted herbs make this Gables garden a special place. Up next we will be building a small fishpond.
